Abstract:

This layer contains land ownership parcels within about 1000 feet of Silver Bow Creek, Montana. Some large parcels are arbitrarily truncated if they extend more than 1000 feet away from the creek. About half of the parcels have an owner name associated with them.

The parcels were digitized by Canonie Environmental for ARCO. The original data from Canonie DXF files is provided, in Esri coverage format, with the data in a folder called DXF_Data, along with a macro file, dxf.aml, that shows how data was transformed from the Canonie coordinate system to real world coordinates.

This data was extensively modified at the State Library based on discussions with Canonie and Titan Environmental.

These data were formerly available from the Montana State Library web site but were removed because they are potentially out of date. Please contact the Federal Superfund Bureau of the Montana Department of Environmental Quality if you want these data so they may tell you if newer or better data are available. If the data are not available from the Department of Environmental Quality, you may request a copy from the Montana State Library data archive.
